so i officially took the name “mr. west”. here’s why: there’s a philly dude named e-rock. and some hyphy fella out west goes by e-money. but there’s no mr. west… besides maybe kanye west, but please. if you know me you’ll know where this came from. anyway, over a year ago i did danielle leikach vol. 1. after partying with danielle last night i decided it was time for the next episode, so here it is. this one starts off fun — i love this chicks on speed jam, which is a remake of the tom tom club classic. then it moves into some harder electro house and some ed banger kinda jams. then into some big bassline dirty electro/fidget house. and finally it cools down with some slower jams. the last song, a remix of hercules and love affair by house legend frankie knuckles, is a killer, killer tune. enjoy this one… big up ms. leikach!

i’m loving how a handful of producers have been combining elements of dubstep, garage, old skool hardcore and rave, electro house, baltimore club, and hip-hop in single tracks. i’m thinking ac slater, tittsworth, nadastrom, jack beats. all my favorite styles from the last few years in one, and it works. if this keeps up, 2009 is going to be a big year. this mix touches a lot on that style. a fun mix that covers a lot of ground.
